The Global Recycling Foundation, which is affiliated with the Brussels-based Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), has issued a reminder that March 3 is its deadline to receive nominations for its Global Recycling Heroes 2023 awards program.
The foundation says the competition has been designed to recognize “the creativity and innovation of individuals, business leaders, sole traders and multinationals who have continued actively to recycle during one of the toughest economic periods for many years.”
“Recycling may not make the headlines, may not even be a topic of conversation at climate change or security conferences, but it is the seventh resource, upon which our very future increasingly must rely—the essential raw material,” says Ranjit Baxi, the London-based founder of the Global Recycling Foundation.
“The contributions made by our Recycling Heroes will always be recognized, and their innovative skills will be followed by others," Baxi adds.
The winning nominees will receive $1,000 and their ideas will be publicized on the Global Recycling Day’s social media channels shared with our global associates and followers. Global Recycling Day was created by the BIR and the foundation and is celebrated March 18.
Those seeking more information on the nomination process can contact the Global Recycling Foundation at info@globalrecyclingfoundation.org.
