Better Battery Co. (BBCo.) is offering plastic-free packaging across all its products.

The Los Angeles-based company claims that with its packaging design, it is setting a new mark for sustainability in the industry while providing consumers with high-performance, sustainability-focused energy solutions.

BBCo. says its fiber-based packaging aligns with its broader commitment to sustainability, including carbon neutrality and a focus on responsible battery disposal, and it advocates recycling wherever available and has a built-in recycling option for its kit product line.

The company offers seven small pack SKUs, tailored to meet a variety of consumer needs. In addition to being plastic-free, certified carbon neutral and 100 percent-recyclable, the packs also are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. Small pack configurations include eight or 16 AA batteries, eight or 16 AAA batteries, two 9-volt batteries, four C batteries and four D batteries.

The company also offers a 100 percent-recyclable kit line that includes a built-in storage box and access to a prepaid shipping label to send used batteries for recycling. The company says every kit has the potential to divert not only packaging, but batteries from landfills.

Kit configurations include 40 AA batteries, 40 AAA batteries and a combination of 20 AA batteries and 20 AAA batteries.

“As a company, we are committed to pushing the battery industry forward with truly sustainable solutions,” BBCo. co-founder Jaclyn Byles says. “Now, in addition to being the first certified carbon neutral battery, and our unique built-in recycling program for our kit line, we are demonstrating this commitment to sustainability through being the first to introduce 100 percent plastic-free packaging across our entire product line. We are excited to partner with retailers who share our vision of reducing waste and making sustainable products the new standard.”

The products now are available at retailers such as Wegmans, Grove Collaborative, Target and Walmart, among others.
