Battery Recycling and Solutions, a Lakewood, New Jersey-based battery recycler, has announced its upcoming initiative to implement 55-gallon drums for collecting used batteries. According to the company, this represents a significant step forward in its ongoing commitment to enhancing environmental sustainability and streamlining recycling processes.

The 55-gallon drums will provide an efficient solution for the collection and transport of used batteries as it is expected to improve the handling of large volumes of batteries, ensuring that they are safely and effectively processed for recycling, the company says.

Battery Recycling and Solutions say the key benefits of implementing the 55-gallon drum include:

  • a larger capacity compared with traditional battery recycling containers, allowing for the collection of more batteries in a single unit;
  • safe storage and transport of used batteries, minimizing the risk of leaks or spills;
  • a streamlined recycling process, making it more efficient and cost-effective for the company and its customers; and
  • reduced environmental impact from battery disposal, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

"We are excited to introduce the 55-gallon drums as a new solution for battery recycling," Battery Recycling and Solutions Business Manager AJ Boufarah says. "This initiative aligns with our mission to promote environmental responsibility and innovation in recycling technologies. We believe that this enhancement will encourage more people to participate in battery recycling, ultimately leading to a significant reduction in environmental pollution."

Battery Recycling and Solutions say its dedication to environmental stewardship is reflected in its continuous efforts to develop and implement sustainable recycling solutions.

The new 55-gallon drums will be available to customers in August, and the company says it is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all customers.
