E-Stewards program highlights its successes

Certification group identifies companies that have passed unannounced audits.

Electronic scrap recycling certification program e-Stewards unveiled a list of facilities that have passed unannounced inspection processes this year, crediting the companies on the list for “doing the right thing.”

The e-Stewards Electronics Recycling Certification program, which is overseen by the Seattle-based Basel Action Network (BAN), has listed 12 facilities that have passed inspection this year. BAN also praised eight companies that have been incident-free after allowing tracking devices to be placed on some of their equipment to detect improper exports.

The 12 facilities that have passed inspection in 2021 are: BT Recycling Solutions, Zapopan, Mexico; Cascade Asset Management, Madison, Wisconsin; Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations, Onalaska, Wisconsin; eGreen IT Solutions, Phoenix; eSCO Processing & Recycling, Rogers, Arkansas; Friendly Earth International, Seattle; Kuusakoski Inc., Peoria, Illinois; Natural Evolution, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Onsite Electronics Recycling LLC, Fort Collins, Colorado; Recycle Boise, Boise, Idaho; Secure Enterprise Asset Management, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Tech-Resale, Cedar City, Utah.

The eight companies with incident-free tracking are Comprenew Inc., Grand Rapids, Michigan; Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), Plainfield, Indiana, location; eLoop, Export, Pennsylvania; Executive Personal Computers, Stafford, Texas; Kuusakoski Inc., Plainfield, Illinois; Sipi Asset Recovery, Elk Grove Village location; Sipi Asset Recovery, Hayward, California location; and Wisetek Solutions, Austin, Texas.

“It was our e-Stewards processors themselves that insisted on these unannounced and random methods of conformity assurance,” says e-Stewards Certification Director Prema George. “They wanted to distinguish themselves from other companies by being caught doing the right thing,” she adds.

Adds George, “We thank our e-Stewards processors for their responsiveness, patience, cooperation, and especially their integrity—proven by these tests and inspections. They are an essential part of what it means to be called a Certified e-Stewards processor.”
