Notch Road Holdings LLC, an affiliate of Baltimore Scrap Corp., headquartered in Baltimore, has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire the assets of Union Processing Corp., North Chili, N.Y.
Union Processing is a scrap metal recycling company that has operated a shredder facility since 1975. “We are very excited about proceeding with the acquisition of Union, a very well-established company in the region with a solid customer base, an excellent work force and a strategic location that complements our northern Pennsylvania affiliate Penn Recycling’s shredder business and the Niagara Falls-based shredder startup, Falls Metal Recycling,” says David Simon, manager of Notch Road Holding.
In addition to the Penn Recycling plant in Williamsport, Pa and the planned Niagara Falls, N.Y. operation, Notch Road’s affiliates operate shredders in Baltimore and Coatesville, Pa.
Closing on the acquisition is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2011.
