The South Carolina-based maker of the Fire Hose Carrier, also known as the Aqua Blaster, says the device provides an ergonomically friendly way for workers or firefighters to address fire or dust-related problems on a jobsite.
“The harness frame will allow the user of the Aqua Blaster with the benefit of using their upper and lower body strength while operating a charged fire hose,” says Ken Blocker of KBlock Tools LLC.
The harness frame and fire hose combination appliance thus allows a charged fire hose to be operated and managed with minimal stress on the back and joints of its user, Blocker adds.
The frame of the Aqua Blaster is constructed and designed based on a marching drum carrier worn and used by drummers in marching bands, and Blocker says the configuration will “drastically minimize and/or eliminate fatigue and probable injuries” that can be associated with manually using fire hoses.
The belly plate of the harness frame has a dual discharge continuous elbow swivel flow that is attached to the opposite ends of a pipe or tube that is mounted on the belly plate.
The threads on the elbow swivels are constructed to adapt and accommodate a variety of firefighting adapters and fire nozzles that are widely accessible, Blocker says.
“This will allow the Aqua Blaster [and] its user the option of integrating various fire hose and fire nozzle combinations that would be best suited for a specific task,” he adds.
The Aqua Blaster has been constructed and equipped to deliver water, foam and other fire and dust suppression agents used in such applications.
The harness frame also is constructed with a locking clamp for the nozzle elbow swivel that allows nozzles to be locked and held stationary at a desired angle, according to KBLock.
