American Fiber Services (AFS), a Smyrna, Georgia-based recovered materials supplier and services provider, has expanded into the Tennessee market with the purchase of Nashville-based Planet Recycling Co., a business AFS says is known for its “innovative solutions and commitment to sustainability.”

The acquisition will be effective Sept. 1.

“We are thrilled to welcome Planet Recycling, their employees and clients into the AFS family,” AFS President March Zachocki says. “This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide top-tier recycling solutions and drive positive environmental impact.

“Together, we will be able to offer our clients an even broader range of services and continue to lead the way in sustainable practices," he adds.

Planet Recycling was established in 1995 as a full-service recycler and recovered materials supplier, conducting waste audits, sales and financing, resource matching, logistics and more. AFS says the acquisition will enhance its ability to provide comprehensive recycling services and that the combined resources of both companies will improve efficiency and allow for greater innovation and an “even stronger commitment to environmental stewardship.”

Planet Recycling has what AFS says is a “long history of excellence” in the recycling industry, noting its reputation for high-quality service and innovative approaches to waste management.

“The integration of their expertise will strengthen AFS’ position as a leader in the recovered materials sector,” AFS says.

The combined company will operate under the AFS brand, which the groups say will ensure continuity and clarity for all stakeholders.
