Allegheny Shredders, Delmont Pennsylvania, has expanded its line of hard drive shredders.
According to the company, the Allegheny SelecShred™ hard drive shredder gives customers the ability to securely shred solid state drives and rotary hard drives using the same machine. It also can destroy almost all e-scrap, including cellphones, circuit boards, motherboards, tapes and USB drives.
The SelecShred is available in two different models. The 12HD7.5 has a 7.5-horsepower motor and a 12-inch feed opening and can shred solid state drives, producing a 3/8-inch shred width, and rotary hard drives, producing a 1½-inch shred width, while the 12HD20 has a 20-horsepower motor and a 12-inch feed opening and can shred solid state drives to a 3/8-inch size and rotary to ¾-inch size. The company notes that other shred widths are available.
Both shredders require three-phase power and, as with all other Allegheny hard drive shredders, can be plant-based or installed into a truck for mobile shredding.
