Al-Jon Series by C&C Manufacturing, Ottumwa, Iowa, has released the Bonfiglioli Squalo 4000 shear. According to Al-Jon, the new shear features 2,645 tons of shearing force, and it can handle up to 42 metric tons per hour (or about 46 short tons per hour) of material. The company reports that it has a very low operating cost per ton, as well.
The shear offers adjustable cut lengths from 22 inches to 51 inches. The shear’s blade set can operate for an average of 1,200 working hours, the company says. The Bonfiglioli Squalo 4000 shear also comes in diesel and electric models.
Parts and service for this shear are available from C&C Manufacturing. Al-Jon reports that no foundation is required for the shear—it only requires firm, level ground. Also, the shear is easy to transport because of its size. In addition, the Bonfiglioli Squalo 4000 comes with remote monitoring functions.
