AF&PA elects board chair, welcomes 8 new members

The Washington-based American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) held its winter board of directors’ meeting Jan. 30 and elected a new board chair and welcomed six member companies and two associate members.

Packaging Corp. of America CEO Mark Kowlzan has been elected AF&PA board chair.

“Mark is an exceptionally strong advocate for the paper and wood products industry,” AF&PA President and CEO Heidi Brock says. “I am excited to partner with Mark, our board of directors and our entire membership as we advance policies that foster economic growth, job creation and global competitiveness.” 

Additional AF&PA officers include Graphic Packaging International President and CEO Mike Doss as first vice chair, Sylvamo Corp. CEO Jean-Michel Ribiéras as second vice chair and Sonoco Products Co. President and CEO Howard Coker as immediate past chair.

The organization also welcomed six company members and two associate members, including American Kraft Paper Industries, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Crown Paper Group, Port Townsend, Washington; K.T.G. USA Inc., Memphis, Tennessee; Legna Software, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Liberty Diversified International, Minneapolis; Mod-Pac Corp., Buffalo, New York; Sustana, De Pere, Wisconsin; and Suzano Packaging, which has U.S. headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
