Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS) has entered into a strategic partnership with Geoplast S.p.A., an Italian company that specializes in recycled plastic solutions for sustainable construction products, to distribute that company’s Aquabox, a polypropylene-based modular, high-capacity stormwater retention/detention system, in the U.S.
ADS says the Aquabox product line is designed to create flexible underground storage for stormwater retention, infiltration, disposal or harvesting for reuse, and is meant to be deployed primarily under parking lots in order to maximize land usage for commercial and public applications. Modules are delivered palletized to a project site and are assembled in place.

ADS says Geoplast’s Aquabox system offers several solutions for stormwater retention and detention. Aquabox features an open cellular design including modules that allow incoming stormwater runoff to freely distribute between modules where it can be stored, collected and/or released with a time delay to reduce potential flooding created by the increase of stormwater intensity in urban areas. ADS says Aquabox has high mechanical resistance, so it can be installed in more dense urban applications.
