ACC, MORE say new website will connect plastic scrap market

The Washington-based American Chemistry Council (ACC) and Sonoma, California-based More Recycling (MORE) have announced a new website designed “to accelerate end market development” for plastic scrap.

“The Recycling Market Development Platform will help connect stakeholders, accelerate the continued growth of plastics recycling and provide guidance on how to better support plastics’ circularity,” says the ACC and MORE in a news release. “This free, open-source digital platform was developed by MORE with ACC as a founding partner.”

Features on the site will be available April 30, the groups say. The platform is currently available to preview on this web page.

A free webinar to be held April 30, “The Recycling Markets Outlook Forum,” has been designed to familiarize participants with the website’s resources and demonstrate how to use them. That webinar is being hosted by the National Recycling Coalition (NRC), the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and RRS Renew.

ACC and More say that “brand owners, retailers, packaging designers, local and state government representatives and recycling industry professionals” are encouraged to register for the webinar on this web page.

“We’re pleased to introduce this tool to the marketplace,” says Keith Christman, managing director of plastics markets at ACC. “It’s an important platform to help equip stakeholders throughout the value chain with resources to accelerate the expansion of end markets for recycled plastics.”
