Stefan Kaiser |
Stefan Kaiser has joined Vecoplan LLC, High Point, N.C., as head of business development. Formerly with partner company, Vecoplan AG in Bad Marienberg, Germany, Kaiser will act as a liaison between the two entities for the transfer of technological and practical knowledge as it applies to best practices in the design, manufacture and implementation of turnkey biomass processing systems in North America and Europe.
In addition to his knowledge of the biomass industry on multiple continents, Kaiser brings an industrial engineering (Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing.) degree to his new position at Vecoplan.
“In many areas the European biomass Industry is ahead of us here in North America, especially in CHP plants and the production and use of pellet fuels, “ says Len Beusse, COO of Vecoplan LLC. “Two of the biggest reasons for this are government incentives that are readily available and government mandates that are actually adhered to. On this side of the Atlantic, biomass plants have to be able to stand on their own as businesses and generate real ROI. Stefan will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of melding the best of what has worked in Europe with what will work in North America.”
Vecoplan engineers and manufactures complete alternative fuel systems, including pre-shredding, separation, screening, air classification and re-shredding equipment as well as storage, unloading, sampling and delivery of fuel to its processing destination.
Systems are used in the preparation of biomass boiler fuel, for co-firing with coal and other fuels, for size reduction prior to gasification, for size reduction prior to pelletizing and in the conversion process for cellulosic ethanol and other biofuels.
