The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., has formed a new Engineering Division that will focus on providing engineering services for the construction and installation of U.S. Shredder’s equipment line.
To accomplish this, U.S. Shredder will combine its existing engineering services with Thompson, Dreesen & Donner (TD&D), an engineering group headquartered in Omaha, Neb. TD&D has been involved with engineering for recycling facilities for more than 10 years.
In a release announcing the new division, Bill Tigner, U.S. Shredder’s president, says, “This is a unique and significant offering to the scrap industry. Most shredder companies, after securing an order, provide minimal information to the customer other than basic loads and installation supervision. Our group will be able to provide the local general contractor with complete construction plans to begin the installation process. The experience of our group will save the shredder customer both time and tens of thousands of dollars in engineering.”
The new division will include the following services:
• Facility layout, including railroad and driveway location
• Design of foundations and piers of the shredder system
• Design of the motor house, including plans for hydraulic and electrical installation
• Design of stairs, platforms and bunkers
• Design of all system electrical utilities, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, lighting, power and telecommunication pathways.
• Construction administration, including a review of all inspection and test reports
For more information on the new division, contact Bill Tigner at 205-999-7670.
