Shred-Tech welcomes the MDS-4 mobile shredding truck to the fleet

With the largest cutting chamber of all the trucks in our lineup, this truck has a legal payload of up to 18,000 pounds.

Shred-Tech, Cambridge, Ontario, has released the latest truck in its MDS line, the MDS-4, which is available in the MDS-4-33 and MDS-4-52 models.

MDS-4 trucks are equipped with two motors and the largest cutting chamber of all the trucks in the company’s MDS line. It is available with either the ST-15H and ST-35H shredders, which are made from aluminum to provide strength without the weight of steel. Throughput on the ST-15H can range from 4,500 pounds per hour to 7,000 pounds per hour, while the ST-35H can shred up to 12,000 pounds per hour. The shredders feature hub knives, high-strength alloy shafts and two new patent pending innovations: cast-in cleaning fingers and a bridgeless vibrating feed hopper, the company says.

The trucks are equipped with Shred-Tech’s proprietary and patented Gripper Tipper bin tunnel loading system, which the company says allows for quick and easy loading of all industry standard containers.

The Plus+1 microcontrol system controls and monitors the system and allows for a job timer, an automatic bin counter, advanced diagnostics and Predictive Idle.

MDS-4 trucks are equipped with Shred-Tech’s angled compactor design and durable moving floor unloading system to ensure maximum payload of up to 11,000 pounds for the MDS-4-33 and 18,000 pounds for the MDS-4-52 and rapid discharge of shredded material.

The newest addition to the company’s MDS Fleet meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s low emissions standards and operates on ULSD (ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel) or B5 Biodiesel fuel. All MDS trucks are equipped with Shred-Tech’s Predictive Idle with auto shutdown and remote panel start/stop. Predictive Idle senses low shredder loads and shuts off the high engine idle when the shredder is unattended and the hopper is empty. Moments later the PTOs are turned off along with the engine, reducing fuel consumption and lowering engine hours, the company says.
