ARMA 2012 was Sept. 23-25 in Chicago. ARMA International’s 57th Annual Conference & Expo featured more than 70 education programs presented by experts in the legal, information technology and information management professions as well as an expo hall with more than 200 exhibitors showcasing a wide array of the latest offerings—from technology to storage.
Whether industry novices or veterans, attendees could benefit from these features of ARMA 2012:
- Tech Lab Sessions—This hands-on lab offered the latest product and solution demos in the expo hall.
- Rapid Fire Sessions—These sessions consisted of several 12-minute presentations. Using just 12 slides in 12 minutes, facilitators focused on the most critical information for attendees. Rapid Fire Sessions covered a broad range of subjects, from innovative records management practices to current trends, technology and career topics.
- Deep Dive Sessions—These interactive sessions were designed to allow attendees to immerse themselves in various aspects of information governance. Each expert-led session offered two hours of intensive discussion and training in topics from managing change to the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles® and developing processes and procedures.
- Buzz Sessions—Attendees could jumpstart their Monday and Tuesday at 7 a.m. with these one-hour early-bird discussions. Buzz Sessions focused on a single topic and were designed to allow discussion and collaboration in a relaxed, casual environment.
- Data Storage and Destruction Education—Information governance continues to become inextricably linked with document storage, secure document destruction, digital document management and data protection. As such, ARMA 2012 offered several sessions to help cut through the clutter of compliance.
Most education sessions were professionally recorded on site. ARMA will synchronize the audio with the accompanying PowerPoint presentations and make them available as Web seminars at www.arma.org/learningcenter. Recordings will be available starting Oct. 25, 2012.
