Jake, Connor & Crew opens West Coast distribution center
Jake, Connor & Crew, the Kitchener, Ontario-based manufacture of containers and consoles for the document destruction industry, has opened a distribution center in central California. The company says the new center will be stocked with its full line of products for the document protection and waste and recycling industries.
“Due to our higher volumes and demand on the West Coast, this was the natural progression for our distribution network,” says Gayle Nummelin, vice president of Jake, Connor & Crew. “In conjunction with our East Coast manufacturing and distribution center and our European distribution center, we are confident that with this new, convenient facility will benefit more of our rapidly growing customer base on the West Coast, who will have the opportunity to experience our quality of products and our unparalleled customer service,” she adds.
Jake, Connor & Crew was established in 1995 as a manufacturer of containers for the document destruction sector. The company expanded its business in 2010 to include containers for the waste and recycling industries.

Regenersis acquires Blancco
Blancco Oy Ltd. has announced that it has been purchased by U.K.-based Regenersis Plc, a strategic outsourcing partner to many of the world’s leading consumer technology companies. Regenersis purchased the data erasure software specialist’s entire share capital for the purchase price of approximately 60 million euro ($83 million), Blancco reports.
Blancco, which will remain headquartered in Finland, will operate as an independent subsidiary of Regenersis. The Blancco brand will be retained and its acquisition will have no impact on Blancco’s existing customer relationships, according to the company.
Regenersis’ portfolio includes products that will be integrated into Blancco’s portfolio, the companies say.
“This transaction should have no effect on Blancco’s growth, which should continue at its current impressive rate,” Kim Väisänen, managing director of Blancco, says.
Väisänen will continue as managing director of Blancco. In addition, he will be the head of software services for Regenersis.
Regenersis says its strategy is to grow Blancco's operations organically and through other mergers and acquisitions.
Matthew Peacock, executive chairman of Regenersis, says, “I am delighted with this acquisition. Blancco is a great business with an excellent fit and at a price that works for our shareholders. Most importantly it moves the center of gravity of the group clearly into advanced solutions, with a majority of our profits in this segment, and opens up a variety of possibilities for future development.”
