1. Granutech hybrid-drive shredder mechanism. Granutech-Saturn Systems Corp. based in Grand Prairie, Texas, has launched a new hybrid-drive mechanism option for its line of Saturn industrial shredders. According to Granutech, features include:

2. Javelin ECS Mobile Recovery Unit. Javelin Manufacturing, a Fort Wayne, Indiana-based producer of eddy current separators (ECS), has introduced the Javelin ECS Mobile Recovery Unit. According to Javelin, features include:

• enhanced portability over standard Javelin ECS units
• can handle material sizes ranging from one-half inch to 5 inches
• can be tailored to fit the needs of any operation
• options include a feed system with a drum or vibratory feeder, discharge conveyors and integrated Javelin ECS units with a choice of different gauss and pole setups
• no concrete slab required

4. UNTHA XR shredders. UNTHA, with North American headquarters in Hampton, New Hampshire, has launched the new XR line of shredders for the recycling of household, commercial and bulky materials. According to UNTHA, features include:

• the UNTHA Eco Drive, designed to ensure that up to 50 percent less energy is consumed compared with other electro-hydraulic drive options
• water-cooled drive motors
• synchronous motors for maximum efficiency
• can be equipped with either the “ripper” or the “cutter” system
• a resqueezing feeder designed to improve the rotor’s feeding behavior
