Kripke Adds Nonferrous Trader to Florida Office
Kripke Enterprises Inc. (KEI), a nonferrous metals brokerage firm based in Toledo, Ohio, has hired Todd Engle as a trader for its Boca Raton, Fla., office.
Engle brings 17 years of experience and knowledge to KEI.
“We are very excited to grow our Florida office and Todd is a fantastic addition to our team, his expertise will fuel our continued growth,” says Matt Kripke, president of KEI.

ISA Elects New Chairman
The Kentucky-based recycling company Industrial Services of America Inc. (ISA) has announced the election of Orson Oliver to the post of chairman of its board of directors.
Oliver has been a director of ISA since 2005. He is currently an independent business consultant with more than 35 years of experience in banking and financial consulting. Oliver began his career in 1968 as an attorney with the U.S. Treasury Department.
Harry Kletter, ISA founder and CEO, was elected vice chairman of the company’s board. He has been a director with ISA since 1983.
I am pleased that Orson has agreed to serve as chairman of our board,” Kletter says. “We value his judgment and look forward to his leadership of our board.”
Oliver says, “Clearly, I will have large shoes to fill, as Harry’s 60 years of experience in the scrap and waste businesses are virtually unparalleled. I am grateful that Harry has agreed to be the vice chairman of the board, and I look forwarding to leading ISA in the years to come.”
Alan Gildenberg also was elected to the ISA board. Gildenberg has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry as an investment advisor and also an independent floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Premier Metal Services Adds to Staff
Premier Metal Services LLC, Solon, Ohio, has announced that Mark Weintraub has joined the company.
Weintraub spent more than 20 years in the metals business, including his family’s auto parts and scrap business. He also worked at Columbia Iron and Metal’s Cleveland facility and at The Federal Metal Co., Bedford, Ohio.
His focus at Premier will encompass all aspects of the company’s business, owner Michael Eisner says.
Washington State Recycling Association Names Spence to Hall of Fame
Steve Spence, a partner with The Sutta Co., an Oakland, Calif.-based recycling company with locations throughout the western United States, has been elected to the Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) Hall of Fame.
Spence started as a procurement forester for Arkansas Kraft. He later managed the secondary fiber system at the mill and was a paper machine foreman.
In 1986 Spence moved to the Northwest when he was hired by Rabanco Recycling as a sales manager. In the early 1990s, he established multiple Pacific Northwest curbside and composting programs. Further, as Rabanco’s vice president of recycling and transfer, Spence designed curbside processing equipment and helped develop a number of Rabanco facilities in the Seattle area.
In 1999, Spence partnered with Steve Sutta as owner and operator of a dozen plants processing paper, plastic, organics and metal. In 2009, the two formed Green Planet 21, a sustainability company that is charged with helping companies reach zero landfill and sustainability goals.
