Recommunity Names Recycling Veteran To Staff
ReCommunity LLC, Charlotte, N.C., has hired Jeff Fielkow as its new executive vice president of growth and development.
Prior to joining ReCommunity, Fielkow served as vice president of sustainability and recycling at Tetra Pak Inc. During his tenure with Tetra Pak, he helped develop the Carton Council's recycling strategy.
"His vision, leadership and experience will be crucial to revolutionizing ReCommunity's recovery revolution, much as he has similarly revolutionized the liquid carton recycling footprint," James Bohlig, ReCommunity CEO, says.
Houston-based Waste Management Inc. has announced Pat DeRueda, president of Waste Management Recycle America (WMRA), has switched positions within the company. As of Jan. 1, 2012, he serves as vice president of Waste Management's Arizona/New Mexico area. As of press time, WM has not named DeRueda's replacement as WMRA president. DeRueda, who served as president of WMRA for seven years, succeeded Dan Vermeer as area vice president for Arizona/New Mexico. Vermeer joined a newly formed Waste Management unit that is focused on optimizing the company's enterprise-wide network of materials recovery, transfer and disposal assets. "Pat leaves WMRA in great shape," David Steiner, WM CEO, says. "What was once a majority owned subsidiary of WM known as Recycle America Alliance became under Pat's leadership a fully integrated, wholly owned subsidiary that is now regarded as the leader in the global recycling industry. WMRA has experienced record profitability for the last two years. More importantly, by extracting more value from the waste stream, WMRA has demonstrated multi-year revenue and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) growth well above company averages."
