The production of recycled paperboard continues to strengthen. According to the American Forest and Paper Association, production increased by 8.2 percent to slightly more than 15 million tons. For November production of the grade stands at 1.236 million tons.
Meanwhile, total paperboard production increased by 2.3 percent for the first 11 months to 46.91 million tons. For November, paperboard production stands at 3.863 million tons.
Broken out by individual commodity grades, the production of recycled linerboard increased by 10 percent between last year and this year. The total for this year, on an annual rate, stands at 4.249 million tons. November’s production level stands at 353,000 tons.
Total linerboard production increased a much smaller 3.9 percent, with the total at 21.883 million tons on an annual rate, year to date.
