SHREDMORE SHRED TRUCKS

Shredmore LLC, based in Alexandria, La., has introduced a line of shred trucks that do not rely on the truck’s engine to power the shredder, meaning there are no power take-offs, large hydraulic tanks or auxiliary transmissions to deal with. Instead, the onboard shredder is powered by a four-cylinder generator. The trucks feature a Cresswood grinder that can accommodate three 95-gallon bins, an automated lifting system, a Hallco composite live floor, a security camera package and 8,000 pounds of storage capacity. SEM MODEL 0101 SLEDGEHAMMER HARD DRIVE CRUSHER

Security Engineered Machinery (SEM), Westboro, Mass., has introduced the Model 0101 Sledgehammer Hard Drive Crusher, which is designed to destroy all computer hard drives regardless of their size, format or type. A conical punch inside the unit delivers 12,000 pounds of hydraulic force, destroying a hard drive’s internal platter and traumatizing its chassis, according to SEM. The company also claims that the Sledgehammer satisfies National Security Agency (NSA) requirements for physical destruction of hard drives after they have been degaussed by an NSA-approved degausser. The unit measures 22 inches high by 10 inches wide by 19 inches deep and weighs 105 pounds. The Sledgehammer plugs into a standard 120-volt outlet. The crusher is equipped with a safety interlock that prevents the unit from functioning when the door is open. It also features an emergency stop button.
