Industrial Netting adds Railcar product
Industrial Netting Inc., Minneapolis, is offering what it calls a "reliable solution to meet revised Association of American Railroads (AAR) loading rules for open-top railcars."
The revised rules require that loose scrap metal be secured to prevent displacement in transit. The company’s CarGoNet product is designed to be used with top-loading gondola cars to help meet the new rules.
"Narrower versions of this product have enjoyed widespread use as an effective, economical method to contain small, loose debris during the transportation of crushed cars in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Cargo Containment Regulation 392.132," the company says in a news release.
Industrial Netting says the CarGoNet product is easy to apply, designed to cover the full width of the car in a single pass and is disposable, being made from polypropylene that can be incinerated in the mill furnace.
U.S. Shredder Introduces New Shredder Line
The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., has introduced its new shredder product line for automobile and scrap processing applications.
The first three models developed are the 80104, 98104 and 120118 shredders. The shredders, developed during the past two years, represent the latest in technology and design, according to U.S. Shredder. The design team included operators, engineers and manufacturing consultants. U.S. Shredder says three main criteria received priority in design: throughput, durability and ease of maintenance.
Bill Tigner, president of U.S. Shredder, says, "These are heavy-duty shredders built for the toughest applications. While other shredder providers over the last several years have tried to keep their prices lower by reducing the steel and weight of their shredders, we focused on a more efficient manufacturing process. This allows us to build the most durable shredder available with pricing competitive with those lighter models."
The shredders will be capable of running all types of rotors, according to the company. While they initially will be manufactured in the United States, the company has development plans for production in Europe already in process.
The shredder product line will be incorporated with U.S. Shredder’s heavy-duty downstream separation and cleaning process, shredder controls and water injection systems.
