Pedigree Technologies tracking tags
Fargo, North Dakota-based Pedigree Technologies will showcase two of its newest asset tracking solutions at WasteExpo, taking place May 2-4 in New Orleans. The PT TAG 20 and PT TAG 5:
- each have a signal range of up to 200 meters, or more than 650 feet
- are designed for a long life of consistent operation with batteries that last 20 years and five years, respectively
- when attached to outdoor tools, equipment and remote assets, such as waste management bins, these Bluetooth tags offer customers increased visibility into these assets at a fraction of the cost of GPS devices
- can connect and sync with truck and trailer GPS devices, Pedigree applications on handsets and tablets, Pedigree’s Cab-Mate electronic logging device and yard-based receivers
- use Bluetooth wireless signals that are picked up and displayed on the OneView platform to repeatedly transmit messages with an asset’s unique identifier
- use tags that are purpose-built for harsh environments

Kice Industries seals for VJOT series rotary airlocks
Park City, Kansas-based Kice Industries has introduced a new sealing technology for its VJOT-series rotary airlocks in collaboration with Israel-based Tamar Seal. The company says the new mechanical seals provide added protection against breakage, contamination and leakage, even in extreme dry-running conditions. Additional product features include:
- Tamar’s shaft-sealing technology, which allows operators to replace the sealant without dismantling or shutting down the equipment
- no fragile components that would make them resistant to abrasive materials
- the option to add predictive maintenance sensors, which deliver notifications when they detect that the sealant needs to be replenished
- minimal required changes to the design
