Lindemann InDEx system.
Germany-based Lindemann Metal Recycling has expanded and further developed its Intelligent Data Exchange (InDEx) monitoring and analysis system for its shears, shredders and, starting this year, balers. The InDEx system:
- collects and processes data from the Siemens S7 programmable logic controllers, or PLCs, on Lindemann machines
- offers real-time monitoring, meaning operators can track machine use and identify reasons for downtime in real-time
- provides data insights via detailed reports on material processed, downtime causes and machine health
- has a user-friendly interface that is compatible across iOS, Android and all major web browsers and requires minimal training
- includes a health index that monitors machine condition and provides maintenance recommendations based on real-time performance data
