Canada-based Sparta Manufacturing has unveiled its new Olympus accelerated ballistic separator. The product is designed to deliver efficiency, speed and reliability to the single-stream recycling sector. Olympus accelerated ballistic separators:
- are equipped with conveyor belts traveling 600 feet per minute that are integrated to ballistic paddles, allowing them to quickly and efficiently separate two-dimensional materials, and operate at a steeper angle, accelerating three-dimensional fraction recovery
- include an intuitive HMI (human-machine interface) control panel where future updates can be made via software downloads
- are designed for easy belt changing with a gas strut cylinder take-up system to quickly track or change belts practically tool-free
- use an electronically driven maintenance door to safely access paddles for cleaning and rear bearings for maintenance

Rice Lake Weighing Systems of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, has released its MSI-9600HT Port-A-Weigh Plus Hi-Torque wireless crane scale integrated with ScaleCore technology. The new wireless crane scales:
- function on a 12-volt rechargeable battery and universal 115/230 volts alternating current battery charger and can operate for up to 75 hours with radio and 250 hours without radio
- are available with up to a 200,000-ton capacity, as well as a 200 percent and 500 percent ultimate safety factor—a structure’s absolute strength to the actual applied load—to help avoid overloading accidents

Fike Corp. Fire Monitors
Blue Springs, Missouri-based Fike Corp. has launched its latest fire suppression solution: Fike Fire Monitors. According to the global fire protection system developer, its fire monitors are ideal for environments when total flood suppression either isn’t possible or isn’t preferred. The monitors:
- have automatic water cannons that can suppress fires considered difficult to reach, often within 15 seconds of detection
- can be combined with Fike flame detectors and high-definition cameras or thermal imaging cameras to create a water-based fire suppression solution
- can be programmed to discharge up to 1,320 gallons of water in a predetermined spray pattern
- include the option of being operated by a person who can view live video and control the unit remotely with a joystick, app or computer
- offer up to 180 degrees of coverage when wall-mounted, while ceiling mounts can reach hazards in a 360-degree area
