Stadler PX acceleration conveyor
Stadler, based in Germany, has released the Stadler PX acceleration conveyor to meet demand for higher throughput in automatic sensor-based sorting applications. The conveyor:
- has the same frame construction and long service life as the company’s BB and DB conveyor models
- includes an air stabilizer to ensure consistent sorting quality at faster speeds with light materials
- offers belt speeds ranging from about 10 feet per second to about 15 feet per second
- features a frame that can be separated into three or four sections, depending on the length of the conveyor
- is compact for easy transport

Liebherr multitine grab
Germany-based Liebherr has debuted the GMM 50-5 multitine grab, which is available for material handlers with an operating weight of between 35 to 55 metric tons. The GMM 50-5 multitine grab:
- comes in a variety of tine shapes and capacities to handle a wide range of recyclables, including bulky scrap, medium-sized mixed materials, sheared scrap, fine materials and chippings
- features components made of sturdy cast steel as well as low-wear, high-strength steel sheets to guarantee stability in tough material handling scenarios
- has large and flow-optimized oil ducts to ensure fast work speeds and efficient machine operation
- comes with sealed, anti-twist piston rod protection for the hydraulic cylinders

Tomra X-Tract
Norway-based Tomra’s sorting division, based in Germany, has launched an updated model of its X-Tract sorter that uses X-ray transmission (XRT) technology, featuring a new design. The X-Tract:
- can help sort complex mixed metal streams to produce high-purity, furnace-ready aluminum fractions
- features dual processing technology that increases the machine’s capacity per foot-width
- comes with a Duoline XRT sensor with two independent line scans positioned close to the input material for high precision detection and fast processing
- can sort material at higher belt speeds ranging from 7.5 feet to 12.5 feet per second
- features extended sorting chambers and new extraction ports to accommodate faster belt speeds
