Envision Plastics’ EcoPrime can be used to package fatty foods and spirits
Envision Plastics, headquartered in Reidsville, North Carolina, has announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a letter of no objection regarding the suitability of Envision’s flagship product, EcoPrime, when used at levels of up to 100 percent in HDPE (high-density polyethylene) packaging for fatty foods and spirits under FDA’s Conditions of Use A through H. EcoPrime is one of the only recycled and recyclable HDPE resins specifically manufactured for direct food contact at levels up to 100 percent, Envision Plastics says, adding that EcoPrime can be integrated into existing manufacturing processes for the packaging of food and beverages, as well as for beauty, cosmetic and personal care products.
