U.S. Shredder makes appointments to Nonferrous System Division
The U.S. Shredder & Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., has announced the launch of a new division to design, develop and manufacture nonferrous recovery systems for use downstream of automobile shredders.
The company also has announced the addition of Mick Erdos, former national sales manager for SGM, to head the division out of its new office in Cleveland. The company also has hired Drew DeLong, a process engineer. DeLong will be located at the company’s Mackinaw, Ill., facility.
According to company President Bill Tigner, “From our beginning, nonferrous systems and upgrades have been a tremendous part of our business. We want to make sure we are incorporating the very best equipment and technology in our systems. It’s all about increased separation and recovery.” He adds, “Mick Erdos’ experience and knowledge, along with the expanded engineering capacity, will greatly support our continued growth in nonferrous recovery systems.”
The U.S. Shredder & Castings Group offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, nonferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers and loggers as well as shredder castings, service and consulting to the scrap industry.
ERI adds to Staff
Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), Fresno, Calif., has expanded its executive roster.
The company has named Gregory Ross, formerly of Republic Services and Allied Waste Services, as its new vice president of sales, and Brenda Mathison, formerly of Best Buy, as its vice president of environmental client affairs.
In addition to these appointments, ERI has named Larry Novicky, formerly with the federal government, as director of business development; Matt McLaughlin, formerly with Metech Recycling, as regional sales director for Colorado; Paul Leahy, formerly of Waste Management Recycle America, as national account executive; Brent Killough, formerly of Republic Services, as national account executive; Robert Warner, formerly with Calibra Medical Inc., as IT director; and Ernie Moreno, formerly with Intechra and IBM, as senior manager of asset management.
“Our continued growth and expansion into new capabilities and into new geographic areas meant we needed to reach out and expand our leadership team,” ERI Chairman and CEO John Shegerian says.
He continues, “We are confident that the unique blend of experience, talent and skill that each of these all-stars brings to the table will be a tremendous collection of assets to our continuous improvement programs in every aspect of our business.”
Peter Nagusky Heads Federal Metal Co.
The Federal Metal Co., Bedford, Ohio, has promoted Peter Nagusky to the post of president, effective Feb. 3, 2010. David Nagusky, his father, has assumed the positions of chairman and CEO and will remain actively involved in the company, according to a news release distributed by the company.
Peter joined Federal Metal in 1997. He has held various operations positions with the company, ranging from shipping and receiving to plant manager. More recently, he was the primary metals purchaser and trader.
Federal Metal supplies brass and bronze ingots to the foundry industry, specializing in lead-free casting alloys, technical expertise and customer service designed to meet a variety of metal casting needs.
