Avis Industrial Corp. adds to staff
The Recycling & Waste Equipment Division of Avis Industrial Corp., Upland, Indiana, has added two to its staff as it brings American Baler Co., Harris Waste Management Group and International Baler Corp. closer together.
Mark Murphy has been named vice president, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and will be responsible for standardizing and streamlining activities across four manufacturing locations and three procurement organizations.
Murphy previously was employed by Atlanta-based WestRock for more than 20 years and has executive leadership experience in operations and risk management. He most recently served as president and general manager of the Seven Hill Paperboard mill in Lynchburg, Virginia, and has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.
Gordon Hill has been named vice president, Commercial Operations, and will develop a go-to-market strategy that includes product offerings across the three baler companies.
Hill has been with the Avis family of companies for the past two years as president and general manager of Pacific Forge, Fontana, California. He has more than 30 years of site operations and business general management experience and has bachelor’s degrees in chemical and mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri as well as master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Villanova University and business administration from the University of Houston.

The three companies that make up Avis’ Recycling & Waste Equipment Division have been in business for a combined 289 years, offer a full range of recycling and waste compaction solutions and operate four manufacturing locations. Products include single-ram, horizontal, two-ram, ferrous and specialty balers; scrap metal and auto shear/baler/loggers; heavy-duty shredders; and high-volume waste and scrap compactors.
