Alter Trading promotes, transitions leaders
Alter Trading Corp., headquartered in St. Louis, has announced changes to the company’s leadership team that went into effect Jan. 1, 2018.
Jay Robinovitz has been promoted to the role of chief executive officer of Alter Trading Corp., replacing Robert Goldstein. He retains his prior title of president and also became a member of the company’s board of directors. His leadership at Alter during the past eight years, coupled with his long history of success in the recycling industry, makes him uniquely qualified for his new role, according to the company.
Michael Goldstein has been promoted to the new role of corporate vice president of operations. He reports to Robinovitz and oversees the operations of all 60 operating and processing facilities. He joined the company in 2009 and has taken on numerous assignments.
Robert Goldstein transitioned to the role of executive chairman of Alter Trading. He has been with the company since 1969 and most recently served as chairman of the Alter Trading board and as chief executive officer. He also serves as chairman of the board and chief executive officer for Alter’s parent company, the Goldstein Group.

Sadoff Iron & Metal announces changes in positions
Sadoff Iron & Metal Co., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, has announced the promotion and transition of two of the company’s veterans, Gary Griessmeyer and David Borsuk.
Griessmeyer has transitioned from his previous role with the company as fleet maintenance manager to the role of environmental manager, a position previously held by Borsuk for more than 30 years.
Borsuk will continue to represent the company and industry with his strategic participation in the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), legislative affairs and other activities related to the business and industry.
