Eriez adds to executive team

Eriez has hired Eric Nelson as vice president – international operations and business development. Nelson worked for Eriez previously, serving as interim managing director of Eriez – China until 2018.

Eriez Vice President – International Jaisen Kohmuench says Nelson will collaborate in developing global business strategies and assist regional Eriez sales directors in uncovering and cultivating business advancement opportunities across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. Nelson primarily will be responsible for coaching and advising local teams, with the overall goal of continuing Eriez’s strategic growth plans.

“Eric brings a wealth of international management experience,” Kohmuench says. “His accomplishments include spearheading numerous organizational turnarounds, developing international management teams and optimizing the performance of many businesses within China and the Southeast Asia region.”

Nelson earned a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature, and a Master of Business Administration in global management.

Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, Eriez designs, manufactures and markets separation technologies on six continents through 12 wholly owned international subsidiaries and an extensive sales representative network. The firm’s 900-plus employees provide technical solutions to the mining, food, recycling, packaging, aggregate and other industries.

M&J Recycling expands staff

M&J Recycling USA Inc., the Boston-based U.S. subsidiary of Denmark-based M&J Recycling, has expanded its sales staff with the additions of Rick Brown and Keith Ely.

Brown joins the company as head of Sales and Dealer Development – Americas to support M&J’s growth.

Prior to joining M&J Recycling, he worked for several industry-leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including in roles that involved growing and managing the compact equipment lines for Caterpillar and Komatsu. Brown has years of experience in the solid waste and mining industries as an OEM regional sales and dealer development manager.

He credits his success in these roles to his belief that understanding machine application, providing hands-on product support and taking a methodical approach to understanding the end-user’s needs were imperatives.

“The most important part of my career has been the people I have worked with and the relationships that I have built over the years,” Brown says. “I look forward to bringing these same principles to M&J Recycling.”

Ely has joined the company as sales manager – Americas.

He has an extensive background in the waste and recycling industry, having started in field service in the early 1980s as a crew leader, installing material recovery facilities, two-ram balers and shredders. After several years, Ely moved over to sales and gained experienced driving key projects in the recycling equipment industry.

In the mid-’90s, he founded a recovered paper company in Cleveland, which has become one of the larger recycling companies in Ohio.

M&J says Ely’s success and experience running a sales and service group for more than 20 years made him a perfect fit for the company. His addition to the staff gives M&J customers instant accessibility to a well-known and respected industry veteran who brings invaluable insights gained from his years of exposure throughout every segment of the industry.
