Genesis Attachments appoints Southwest Regional Manager, Service Tech
Genesis Attachments, Superior, Wis., has appointed Blaine Archibald as regional sales manager for the fast-growing Southwest region. The company also has named Tim Preston to the new position of regional service technician.
Archibald will service customers in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii.
"This is an outstanding opportunity for me to take what I have to offer—solid educational credentials, business ownership and life experience—and apply it to promoting the Genesis brand in this region," Archibald says.
Preston previously worked for Genesis, but left the company three years ago to pursue other interests. He will hanlde attachment repairs, maintenance training, new delivery product training and dealer training. Preston also will be available for customer pay services for both repair and maintenance.
"We are excited—and fortunate—to have people the caliber of Blaine and Tim heading up the sales and service efforts in that area," says Shane Kuhlmey, Genesis’ national sales manager. "Growing the Southwest U.S. market has been a focus of ours for some time now, and we feel strongly that this move will go a long way, both in improving service to our existing customer base and bolstering our competitive advantage there."
Alter's Rhodes Receives CFO Award

, senior vice president of finance for Alter Trading Corp., was named 2008 CFO of the Year at the inaugural St. Louis Business Journal CFO of the Year Awards.The awards were developed to honor St. Louis area professionals for outstanding performance as corporate financial stewards. A panel of academic and finance-industry leaders selected Rhodes as the CFO of the year in the large private company category. In total, there were 70 nominees, 15 finalists and five category winners.

Keith is probably one of the best strategic minds I’ve ever met," says Robert Goldstein, Alter chairman, president and CEO.
Alter has reached $2 billion in annual revenue. Rhodes, Alter’s CFO for the past 11 years, has helped lead the senior management team in developing strategic plans for growth, investing $100 million in capital improvements over the past four years (excluding acquisitions) and acquiring and integrating nine companies in the past two years. In addition, he has pioneered new branding and marketing initiatives for the company, according to an Alter news release.
