In Memoriam: Keith Richardson
Keith A. Richardson
, a veteran scrap executive with Pennsylvania-based Krentzman Metals Corp., passed away June 20, 2008, at the age of 67.Richardson graduated from Pennsylvania Military College and served two years in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in France. He was employed in the purchasing department of Bethlehem Steel for 30 years, when he retired to Johnstown, Pa.
Since 1998, Richardson had been a senior scrap broker, representing Krentzman Metals Corp., Lewistown, Pa.
Richardson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, and his daughter, Carrie (Norman) Smilowitz.

Norcal Appoints COO
San Francisco’s Norcal Waste Systems Inc.’s board of directors has named George P. McGrath executive vice president and chief operating officer. McGrath is responsible for all Norcal facilities and operations with a focus on customer service and sustainability programs associated with the company’s services to more than 60 communities in California.
"We are delighted to have George serve in this capacity as he brings continuity, stability and leadership to our senior management team," says Mike Sangiacomo, president and CEO of Norcal Waste Systems Inc. "George’s knowledge of the solid waste industry and operations management are extremely valuable to Norcal’s continued growth and success."
For the past 10 years, McGrath has served as Norcal’s senior vice president and chief information officer responsible for the company’s information systems. From July 1996 to June 1997, he served as vice president and general manager of Alta Environmental Services Inc., a wholly owned Norcal subsidiary that manages and administers landfill and compost operations. Prior to joining Norcal in October 1995, McGrath served as vice president and area general manager for Chemical Waste Management in the Western region of the United States.
McGrath is a native of Houghton, Mich., and a graduate of Western Michigan University.
