RIVERSIDE ENGINEERING ADDS TO STAFF

Riverside Engineering, San Antonio, Texas, has announced a number of staff appointments that, the company says, has increased the depth of its sales and technical staff.

Mechanical engineer Marvin Lee has joined the company as a design engineer. He has experience in material movement and conveyor systems.

Larry Frost has joined Riverside Engineering’s controls and systems integration group, bringing its staff to five. Frost is an electrical engineer with experience in the design of industrial automation systems.

George Hipsher has been appointed national sales manager. Hipsher was formerly with Motion Industries and has experience in electrical and power transmission systems.

Randy Brace, Riverside president, says, "We are fortunate to find quality personnel like Marvin, Larry and George. They all have unique skills and experience that will enhance the depth and breadth of talent within Riverside Engineering."

ERNST MOVES TO SENNEBOGEN’S AMERICA TEAM

Constantino Lannes, president of Sennebogen LLC, has announced the addition of Andreas Ernst to Sennebogen America.

"I was very fortunate to be able to add Andreas to the team," Lannes says. "He has been with Sennebogen for over eight years and brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization."

Ernst has worked at the Sennebogen factory in Germany since he started with the company, most recently working directly with other Sennebogen America regional managers, as well.

Lannes says, "With the number of dealers that we now have, it also made perfect sense to try and get someone from the factory who is familiar with all aspects of the Sennebogen product line, along with the people who design it and build it. We are all pleased that he has decided to join the Sennebogen America organization."

MARK RAMUN JOINS JEWELL STAFF

Jewell Attachments LLC, Portland, Ore., has hired Mark Ramun as sales and marketing manager.

Ramun comes to Jewell from affiliated company Genesis Attachments LLC, Superior, Wis., where he served as regional sales manager and then as director of the company’s demolition services group and of distribution development. He will report to Jewell General Manager John Edwards.

Current Sales and Marketing Manager Bruce Skurdahl will assume the new role of product manager, focusing his knowledge on the continued development of Jewell’s product line and markets.

Jewell Attachments specializes in the conversion of excavators for special duty use in the construction, logging, demolition and scrap processing industries, as well as in making equipment and attachments for those and other industries.

PSI GIVES ALPERT MEMORIAL AWARD TO PETERMEYER

During the recently concluded Paper Stock Industries (PSI) fall meeting the association gave its fourth annual Phil Alpert Memorial Award to Ray Petermeyer, a long-time paper recycler, as well as a former president of the PSI Chapter of ISRI.

The award is given to a person who has contributed a minimum of 10 years in a leadership capacity for the association. Previous recipients of the award were Stan Litman, Nini Krever and Johnny Gold.

WALKER MAGNETICS PROMOTES LONGO

Walker Magnetics Group Inc., Worcester, Mass., has appointed Richard Longo to the position of president and COO of worldwide company operations.

Walker Magnetics manufactures permanent, electromagnetic and electro-permanent magnet products and systems for use in industrial applications. The company has manufacturing, research and development capabilities in North America, Western Europe and Asia.

Longo is a 12-year veteran of Walker Magnetics Group. In his most recent position as president of North American operations, he helped to coordinate Walker Magnetics’ expansion into China with the formation of three strategic alliances. As president and COO of worldwide operations, Longo will focus on expanding R&D in North America and building capacity in the United States.

Prior to joining Walker, Longo held key management positions at Raytheon and Teledyne and also served as president of his own company Warner Power, a transformer and power supply manufacturing company based in Warner, N.H.
