THE SHREDDER CO. HIRES KAMINSKI

The Shredder Co. LLC (TSC) Executive Vice President Scott Newell III and Vice President Jerry Bench have announced that Dave Kaminski has joined the company as a sales representative serving the Midwest and Northwest United States.

Kaminski is an experienced shredder operator and scrap processing plant manager. He has served as a long-time executive employee of OmniSource, having managed plants in Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mansfield, Ohio; and East Chicago, Ind.

"This makes him uniquely qualified to understand and address the needs of TSC customers," according to a press release from TSC.

The Shredder Co., based in Canutillo, Texas, designs and manufactures complete wet and dry shredding plants, including in-feed conveyors, shredders, separating systems, scrubbers, cyclones and computer-based control systems.

VEOLIA APPOINTS NEW SOLID WASTE DIVision PRESIDENT AND COO

The Solid Waste division of Veolia Environmental Services North America Corp. (VESNA), headquartered in Milwaukee, has named Richard Burke to the post of president and COO of Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc.

He replaces Paul Jenks, who retired from his position as president and CEO of the company at the end of 2006. Burke previously served as the eastern region vice president of Veolia ES Solid Waste.

"While we will miss Paul Jenks’ leadership and guidance, we are fortunate to have a key individual to promote from within the organization," Michel Gourvennec, CEO of Veolia Environmental Services North America, says. "Richard Burke brings a wealth of industry experience and strategic insight to his new role as president and COO. These traits will serve us well as he takes an active approach in driving the growth of our company across North America."

Burke says of his new role, "My objective is to drive the strategic growth of the Solid Waste division and continue to expand our North American presence in line with the goals of the entire Veolia organization."

Burke is also responsible for P&L (profit and loss) for Veolia.

Burke joined Veolia in 1999 as area manager for southeast Wisconsin and was soon promoted to regional vice president for the eastern and southern markets. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Waste Management as director of operations for the state of New York.

WENDT ADDS TO ENGINEERING STAFF

Wendt Corp., Tonawanda, N.Y., has recently announced the addition of Mark Salunek to its engineering staff as a design engineer.

Prior to joining Wendt, Salunek served as the manager of fabrication engineering for CS&P Cryogenics, based in Houston.

Salunek earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and successfully completed the Navy’s Advanced Welding School.

PSC METALS NAMES NEW VP


PSC Metals has announced that Ted McQuade has joined the company as vice president of operations.

McQuade previously has served as CEO of Industrial Power Coatings, CEO of Holm Industries Inc. and president of Cooper-Standard Automotive Plastics Division.

He replaces John Rent, who retired from the company Jan. 1.

PSC Metals is a scrap metal processing, brokering and mill services operation with yards throughout the eastern United States and Canada.

WINKLE APPOINTS SALES DIRECTOR

Winkle Industries, Alliance, Ohio, has promoted Mark Volansky to the position of sales director.

Volansky has been with Winkle for 19 years and, according to Winkle President Joe Schatz, has been instrumental in the development of new services and product launches that are now part of the company’s current offering.

"His engineering and sales experience provide him with a unique level of understanding on both sides of the table," Schatz says. "Mark is the dynamic individual we were looking for to lead the sales team to new heights."

Volansky says, "I am honored to lead all domestic and international sales responsibilities and I am looking forward to enhancing the company’s position throughout the marketplace."

U.S. SHREDDER AND CASTINGS ADDS VP

U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Brookhaven, Miss., has announced the promotion of Barry Sheppard to the position of vice president of aftermarket sales.

Sheppard, who served as the company’s East Coat regional manager prior to his promotion, is responsible for overseeing the company’s shredder castings and wear parts sales throughout North and Central America.

"Our continuous success and growth in the castings and wear parts business meant that we needed someone to devote all of his efforts in support of the aftermarket business," Bill Tigner, president of U.S. Shredder says. "Barry has not only been a proven leader in sales for us, but brings management and logistics experience to the position as well."

Prior to joining U.S. Shredder and Castings in the summer of 2006, Sheppard was the East Coast regional manager for Metso Texas Shredder. He also served in the U.S. Army’s Special Forces as a Green Beret.
