GRAVES JOINS US SHREDDER AND CASTINGS
The US Shredder and Castings Group, Brookhaven, Miss., has hired Troy Graves as the company’s aftermarket specialist.
In his new role, Graves will focus on expanding US Shredder’s casting and wear parts business, which serves all makes of shredders.
Graves, a recent graduate of Illinois State University, has a bachelor’s degree in international business and also is fluent in Spanish. He will be working out of a US Shredder office in Mackinaw, Ill.
"Troy has tremendous skills to provide to the company," says company President Bill Tigner. "Besides a degree in international business, he is extremely capable with the CAD computer program. Also, as our business is expanding greatly in Mexico and Central America, his fluency in Spanish will be a great asset."
The US Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap shredding systems as well castings, service and consulting to the North and Central American scrap industry.
RICHARD GERTLER JOINS BROTHER’S COMPANY
Richard Gertler, a 26-year veteran of the scrap recycling industry, has joined his brother Jeffry Gertler as a partner and principle of Scrap Metal Services LLC (SMS), Flossmoor, Ill.
Richard has previously worked as manager of national accounts for OmniSource Corp. and recently completed a 12-month non-compete arrangement with that company. He is also past vice president of Industrial Scrap Consulting, a joint venture between OmniSource and Middletown, Ohio-based Cohen Brothers Inc., and is a former owner, along with his father and brother, of Industrial Scrap Corp., which was based in East Chicago, Ind.
"I look forward to returning to the scrap business and re-joining my brother Jeff in building the necessary infrastructure for the future growth of SMS," Richard, says.
"Having Rick return to the scrap business is a great addition and asset to the SMS organization," Jeff says.
SMS provides scrap management and brokerage services for ferrous and nonferrous scrap suppliers and generators. Jeffry Gertler founded the company in August of 2005.
WEIMA AMERICA ADDS TWO TO STAFF
Fort Mill, S.C.-based Weima America, a provider of size-reduction equipment, has added two sales managers to its staff.
Dan Sanford and Ben Buchsieb have joined the company as sales managers.
Sanford, who resides in Minnesota, is the regional sales manager for the Central Region of the United States and Canada.
Buschieb, who lives in Arizona, is the regional sales manager for the Western Region of the United States and Canada.

CONTECH MAKES APPOINTMENTS
Contech Stormwater Solutions Inc., based in West Chester, Ohio, has made a number of staff appointments.
Maryjane Mac Leod joins Contech as the stormwater consultant supporting San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties in California. She most recently worked as a sales account manager for Luscombe Engineering in Camarillo, Calif., and has more than 20 years of engineering and sales experience.
Contech has promoted Frank Birney to manager for the Atlantic area. He has been a stormwater consultant since 1999 and has more than 14 years of experience in the environmental industry.
Aimee Connerton has been appointed to stormwater consultant for the Lower Maryland and Washington, D.C., area. She joined Contech Stormwater Solutions as an inside sales coordinator in 2003. In 2005, she was promoted to stormwater consultant in Virginia and West Virginia.
John Stiver has been appointed to the position of stormwater consultant for Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He joined Contech in 2000 as a stormwater consultant in California.
Eric Strahan joins Contech as stormwater consultant supporting Riverside and Orange counties in California. He brings 15 years of technical sales experience in analytical, process and test instrumentation to Contech.
