Kevin Gershowitz Named Among "40 Under 40"
Long Island Business News has recognized Kevin Gershowitz, executive vice president of Gershow Recycling Corp., Medford, N.Y., among 40 Long Islanders younger than 40 who have made significant contributions to the region.
Gershowitz oversees the daily operations of Gershow Recycling, which his father founded in 1964.
He is active in several professional organizations, serving as first vice president for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries New York Chapter and as vice president for Empire Metal Merchants. Gershowitz is also a member of the Long Island Mid-Suffolk Business Association and the Long Island Association. Additionally, he launched the Gershow Recycling Scholarship Program.

WINKLE APPOINTS PTAK TO LEAD ITS MAGNETICS ENGINEERING GROUP
Winkle Industries Inc., Alliance, Ohio, has appointed Richard F. "Dick" Ptak, P.E., as manager of magnetics engineering.
Ptak, a Cleveland native, will lead the engineering team responsible for the design, development and support of all Winkle magnetic lifting devices, including remanufacturing and certification services.
He brings more than 30 years of experience to the position, including many years in departmental management and leadership. Ptak has gained field experience in steel mills and recycling yards throughout North America and the Pacific Rim while working as a project engineer and consultant.
