COZZI ENTERPRISES
Former Metal Management Inc. executive Frank Cozzi has established Cozzi Enterprises as a new brokerage based in the Chicago area.
Cozzi Enterprises has joined the Paper Stock Industries (PSI) Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. and will engage in scrap paper brokerage.
Cozzi departed from his former post as vice president and president of the central region for Metal Management Inc. in mid-January.
ALUMINUM ASSOCIATION
Craig P. Eddy, president and CEO of Coastal Aluminum Rolling Mills Inc., Williamsport, Pa., has started his two-year term as the new chairman of the Aluminum Association, Washington.
Eddy takes over for Alcan Inc. Executive Vice President Brian Sturgell.
Eddy has been with Coastal Aluminum for many years and has been president of the company since 1992. Coastal Aluminum specializes in rolling aluminum foil and in coating metal products used in aerospace, automotive, packaging, window treatment and other markets and applications.
He has been active in Aluminum Association matters since 1991 and led a delegation to China to participate in the China 2003 Aluminum Forum in Beijing in December of 2003. While there, Eddy helped the Aluminum Association forge a cooperative partnership with the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.
IN MEMORIAM: Thomas B. Rumpke
Thomas Rumpke, co-CEO and co-president of Rumpke Consolidated Cos. Inc., Cincinnati, died in January at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Melissa Krieger, sons Todd Rumpke, Mark Rumpke, Matthew Rumpke and 13 grandchildren.
Since his teens, Tom worked for the family’s waste and recycling business, which was started by his father and uncle in 1932. He worked closely alongside his cousin Bill Rumpke since they began a residential route collection partnership in 1956.
Tom was commended by colleagues for his friendly, open door policy toward all of Rumpke’s 1,800 employees.
Memorials may be made in the form of financial contributions to the Thomas B. Rumpke Memorial Fund. Money from the fund will be donated to the families of two Rumpke service vehicle drivers who were involved in accidents. Driver Steven Finch was fatally injured in an accident January 3 and driver Mike Dewey survived a serious accident December 31.
