Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has realigned its engineering department along two major groups, making two key personnel appointments in the process.
Kenneth Booth
, project manager/Hydraulic Shear & Balers, employed with Harris for 39 years, has the added responsibility of group administrator for the ferrous and TransPak lines of equipment. Booth’s experience lies with heavy hydraulics machine design and as the project manager for the 2,200-ton cutting force shears and six portable balers made for the U.S. Defense Nuclear Agency. He has completed more than 100 shear and baler projects installed in more than15 countries.Don Barnes
, project manager/Special Product Mosley, will assume additional duties as group administrator for the horizontal and two-ram lines of equipment. Barnes has 24 years of experience with Harris as a designer and hydraulic engineer."Both Kenny and Don have demonstrated the leadership qualities necessary to handle the additional responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner" says Henry Jobe, director of Engineering and Technical Resources.
IN MEMORIAM
Stanley H. Litman
, 75, co-founder of Texas Recycling/Surplus Inc., Dallas, passed away in late December. Litman was president of the Paper Stock Industries (PSI) chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) in the mid 1990s and received the Israel Proler lifetime achievement award in 2001 from the Gulf Coast chapter of ISRI for his contributions to the recycling industry.He and his sons, Joel and Craig, co-founded Texas Recycling/Surplus Inc. in 1992. He had previously been co-owner of Daltex Waste Material Co. in Dallas. Litman entered the recycling industry in the early 1980s after being a regional sales manager for NCH Corp.
He is survived by his wife Lenore; brother Marvin of Overland Park, Kan., and children Mark Litman of Green Valley, Calif.; Joel Litman and daughter-in-law Susie of Dallas; Alana Litman of Prairie Village, KS; and Craig Litman and daughter-in-law Andra of Dallas; as well as six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
