Members of the Lasky family who are involved with Sadoff Iron & Metal Co. and its parent company, Sadoff & Rudoy Industries LLP, Fond du Loc, Wisc., have been honored as a top family business in the Badger State.
The company and its family members have earned second runner-up status for the MassMutual 2000 National Family Business of the Year in the state of Wisconsin in the large business category.
"Since the company’s founding in 1947, Sadoff & Rudoy has grown from a one location, three employee operation to a three-generation, international scrap metal operation," says MassMutual’s Susan Glucksman. "Today, it has nine locations and 300 employees."
Lasky family members accepting the award included Sadoff & Rudoy CEO Sheldon Lasky, his wife Helaine, his sons Jason and Mark and daughter-in-law Kristen.
SCHUPAN ALUMINUM SALESFrank M. Hatoum has joined Schupan Aluminum Sales as vice president of business development.
Hatoum will be responsible for developing commercial sales and marketing for the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based aluminum specialties firm, which is a subsidiary of Shupan & Sons Inc.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the aluminum industry, having formerly been employed by Alcoa, Kaiser Aluminum and Indalex.
UNITED RECYCLING INDUSTRIES INC.
United Recycling Industries Inc., West Chicago, Ill., has named Lauren S. Roman as vice president of marketing for its United Recycling Services division. The United Recycling Services division handles disassembly and demanufacturing tasks for United.
"The company is a pioneer in electronics recycling and one of the largest in the field," says Roman of her new employer. "And, it is the only electronics recyclers with both chip recovery and refining capabilities."
Roman’s duties with United include marketing the company’s decontamination and recycling services and the promotion of United’s new shredding system for electronic equipment.
In 1995, Roman founded Industrial Recycling Services Inc., which helped Fortune 500 companies implement electronics recycling programs. She will work for United from an office in Flanders, N.J., and will report to United Recycling Industries president and CEO Robert J. Glavin.
