Environmental Industry Associations
Bill Sells has been selected manager of legislative affairs for Environmental Industry Associations, Washington. Sells has a 10-year background in the legislative arena, including direct work on the development and implementation of legislative programs, PAC fundraising and increasing voter registration. Since 1989, Sells has been the director of government affairs at the Computer Leasing and Remarketing Association.
AISI
Mark Stephenson was named vice president of communications for the American Iron and Steel Institute, Washington. Stephenson served as the director of communications at the U.S. Department of Interior.
In other news, Dave Jeanes, currently vice president of market development for AISI, will become the Institute’s senior vice president of market development.
Finally, it was announced that Barton Green, senior vice president and general counsel, and Frank Fenton, senior vice president for public policy, have retired.
IMCO Recycling
Tom James has been elected a member of the IMCO Recycling board of directors. James is chairman of the board of directors and CEO of Raymond James Financial Inc., and chairman of Raymond James & Associates Inc., an investment banking and securities firm located in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Harris Waste Management
Michael Tryon has been named president of Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga. Tryon, previously vice president of sales and marketing, will now direct all operations of the manufacturing concern.
In other news, Bill Tigner was appointed director of sales and marketing. He will direct the ferrous, non-ferrous and and international sales force. He previously served as national accounts manager.
American Baler
Rick Goebbel has been promoted to assistant sales manager of the American Baler Company, Bellevue, Ohio. Goebbel served as a field service engineer for 15 years prior to joining the company’s sales department in 1991. His past responsibilities included starting up new baler systems for companies and training both maintenance and operator personnel. In his new position, he will be more involved in both the sales and marketing aspects of the company.
