SIERRA INTERNATIONAL MACHINERY
Sierra International Machinery, Bakersfield, Calif., has appointed Richard Harris managing director of the company’s MacPresse line of conveyors, sorting systems and balers, according to John Sacco, president of Sierra.
"We’re very excited," says Sacco. "This will give us the impetus and the experience we need to get out into the marketplace more than we have been with the MacPresse line of equipment. We needed an individual from the industry such as Richard who knows the situation in the United States and in international markets."
Harris has 19 years of experience in the recycling equipment market. Most recently, he spent 7 years with American Baler as vice president/general sales manager.
TUBE CITY
Tube City Inc., Pittsburgh, has hired Gary Gallo as manager of recycling operations. As such, he will oversee the company’s efforts to secure steel cans and other municipal scrap for the steel industry. With 10 years of steel industry experience, Gallo worked most recently at the Steel Recycling Institute, Pittsburgh, where he managed two regions during his six-year tenure.
HARRIS WASTE MANAGEMENT GROUP
Harris Waste Management Group, Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has appointed Nickolas Johannes as the company’s new marketing manager. Prior to joining Harris, Johannes had 11 years of experience as Mead Containerboard and Packaging Division’s marketing manager. In his new position, Johannes is responsible for all marketing functions including sales promotions, advertising and public relations.
RAYTHEON
Raytheon Engineers & Construction/Rust Division, Birmingham, Ala., has promoted Ronnie Knight to vice president of projects, pulp and paper. Raytheon’s Rust Division designs and builds recycled pulp and paper mill facilities.
TAPPI
The Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Norcross, Ga., has announced that Wayne Gross has become its sixth director. Gross, formerly the managing director of the International Gas Turbine Institute of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Atlanta, was elected by unanimous consent of TAPPI’s board of directors.
SHREDEX INC.
Shredex Inc., Shirley, N.Y., has named Ralph Mercogliano its sales manager of the year.
