LINK-BELT

Link-Belt Construction Equipment, Lexington, Ky., has named John Toher senior director of parts operations. Toher will oversee the company’s new parts distribution center organization. Toher’s responsibilities include the consolidation of planning, procurement, sales, marketing and distribution of Link-Belt parts into a single organization. Link-Belt makes equipment for the scrap, demolition, forestry and construction industries.

LINDEMANN

Ed Simpson has joined Lindemann Recycling Equipment, Charlotte, N.C., as senior engineer responsible for the design and troubleshooting of controls and hydraulics. He previously has worked for Harris Press and Shear and Mosley Machinery, among others.

In addition, Glenn Roley has joined Lindemann as Southwest regional sales manager. His territory includes Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Colorado and Western Tennessee. Roley has held sales positions in companies such as Dover Conveyor and Harris Waste Management Group.

POLYMER SYSTEMS

Jack Browne has been appointed to vice president of marketing and sales, responsible for all of the company’s domestic and international activities Polymer Systems, Berlin, Conn., is a supplier of granulators, shredders and recycling systems to the plastics and general waste industries.

IN MEMORIAM

Kelly B. Pettit, president and owner of United Group Inc., Topeka, Kan., died last month at the age of 43. Pettit started with United Corp. when he was 18, as the company’s pilot. He stayed with the company during the years it was the United Division of Al-jon, and earlier this year purchased the company back from Al-jon and renamed it United Group. Pettit is survived by his wife, Jancy Sue Campbell, a daughter, Casey Marie Pettit, and a son Kelly Brooks Pettit Jr., all of Topeka.

John Kis, formerly vice president and general manager of the recycling division of Intermetco Ltd., Hamilton, Ontario, died recently after a one-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Respected by all in the recycling industry who knew him, Kis served a term as president as the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries. He is survived by his wife, Pat Kis.
