LINDEMANN RECYCLING EQUIPMENT
Harry Wallace has been named purchasing manager in the Operations Department for Lindemann Recycling Equipment, Charlotte, N.C. As such, he will be responsible for purchasing spare parts, equipment and related items required for the manufacture of Lindemann recycling equipment.
Also, Tim Gore has joined Lindemann as sales coordinator responsible for marketing, sales and distributor staff support; and Heidi Emerson has joined the company as a computer-aided design engineer.
HARRIS WASTE MANAGEMENT
Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree, Ga., has named Roger Liu as its new regional manager for the Pacific Rim. A native of Taiwan, Liu will be responsible for serving Harris’ growing customer base in the South Pacific and the Far East.
NUCOR
John Correnti, president of Nucor, Charlotte, N.C., has been named chief executive officer of the steel minimill company. Former CEO Ken Iverson is now chairman of the board. The shift is characterized by the company as relatively minor. "Mr. Iverson is not retiring," says a company spokesperson. "He will be in every day as chairman of the board."
SUPERIOR SERVICES
G.W. "Bill" Dietrich has been appointed CEO of Superior Services Inc., West Allis, Wis. Superior is one of the largest independent waste handling companies in the Midwest. The company operates eight landfills, 12 transfer/processing facilities and 20 collection operations.
TAMCO
Leonard Robinson, environmental manager at TAMCO, a minimill located in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., was appointed by the Moreno Valley City Council to serve on the Ecological Protection Advisory Committee. Robinson is noted for initiating a program where firearms and knives confiscated by California law enforcement agencies are melted and recycled into steel reinforcing bar, and was awarded the Environmentalist of the Year award by the Filter Manufacturers Council for developing an innovative nationwide used oil filter recycling program.
PROCYCLE OIL & METALS
John Barber, III, president of ProCycle Oil & Metals, Austin, Texas, has been named to the Used Oil Grant Advisory Committee by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. The committee offers advice to TNRCC commissioners on issues regarding the state’s Used Oil Grant Program.
