THE DAVID J. JOSEPH CO.
Joseph Salsitz has resigned his position as divisional president with The David J. Joseph Co., Cincinnati, after 27 years of service. The resignation will take effect before December. He will also resign from the board of directors, where he has been a five-year member. According to Salsitz, he and management had philosophical differences on the future growth of the business.
Salsitz began his career with The David J. Joseph Co. in 1970 as a trading representative in the company’s Detroit office.
MEXICAN RECYCLING INSTITUTE
The board of directors of the Mexican Recycling Institute (INARE) has elected Carlos Rovelo as its delegate to the United States. Rovelo is director-market development of the southwest region for Rock-Tenn Recycling, Dallas. INARE consists of more than 1,500 companies and individual members from the recycling processing, collection, and equipment manufacturing industries in Mexico.
SPSA
Southeastern Public Service Authority, Chesapeake, Va., has appointed Hazel Ogle as a marketing specialist. She joins SPSA from Waste Management of Hampton Roads Inc., where she was division sales manager. In her capacity as marketing specialist, Ogle will develop business recruitment strategies, meet with business customers and assess market trends. SPSA is a government solid waste management agency serving eastern Virginia.
WASTE TECHNOLOGY CORP.
Waste Technology Corp. has named Robert Turner vice president of marketing and sales for its International Baler Co. and Consolidated Baling Machine Co. divisions. Turner has been owner and president of his own baler manufacturing firm and has spearheaded domestic and international sales efforts for several other major manufacturers, including Harris and Marathon Equipment.
ALCAN CORP.
Richard Evans, president of Alcan Aluminum Corp., Montreal, has been elected board chairman of The Aluminum Association, Washington. Evans will serve a two-year term as president of the association, which represents primary and secondary producers of aluminum and aluminum products. He replaces Allen Born, chairman and CEO of Alumax Inc., Cressona, Pa.
