AMERICAN BALER CO.
Joe Szany has joined American Baler Co., Bellevue, Ohio, as the company’s new general sales manager. For the last four years, Szany has been sales manager for Lindemann Recycling Equipment Co., Charlotte, N.C. "As a respected industry figure, Joe brings to American Baler a wealth of experience and ability to promote the growth and ongoing success of our company," says Jerry Johnson, president of American Baler. "This well-rounded industry experience will greatly enhance the recent expansion of our manufacturing capabilities."
THE NEWARK GROUP
The Newark Group, Cranford, N.J., has named Tom Alberdi general manager of the Southeast Region for its Recycled Fibers Division. Alberdi will be based in Fayetteville, Ga.
In addition, Stephen Vento has been appointed vice president and general manager of the company’s Recycled Fibers International Division. He will coordinate export sales handled through other Recycled Fibers locations and manage the European customer base. Vento is based in Sunrise, Fla.Myung (Mike) Kwon Koh was also named as vice president-Far East region for Recycled Fibers International and will handle accounts in that part of the world. He will be based in Los Angeles.
SCHUPAN & SONS
Schupan & Sons Inc., Kalamazoo, Mich., has named Tom Emmerich vice president of its Recycling Division. Emmerich will head up Schupan’s three beverage can recycling plants and coordinate all recycling services related to the soft drink and beer industry.
GNB TECHNOLOGIES
Thomas Minner has been named president and chief executive officer of GNB Technologies, Atlanta. He has been employed at GNB since 1980, and most recently was the company’s vice president and general manager of the Automotive Division. Minner succeeds Graham Spurling who will continue to serve as an executive director of GNB’s parent company, Pacific Dunlop Ltd., Melbourne, Australia. GNB is one of the world’s largest makers and recyclers of batteries.
LINK-BELT
The Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co., Lexington, Ky. has appointed Ken Cornett product specialist for hydraulic excavators. In this position, Cornett will be the primary communication link to field sales regarding Link-Belt’s excavator products and their applications to the scrap, demolition and construction industries.
T K TRADING
T K Trading & Consulting Inc., Chappaqua, N.Y., has opened a sales office in Aston, Pa. Tom Savage will head this office and be responsible for the purchase and sale of recovered fiber for T K in the lower Atlantic states. Savage was formerly with Scott Paper Co. and American Fiber Resources.
MID-STATES RECYCLING SYSTEMS
Linda Hamman and Bill Warmun have joined Mid-States Recycling Systems Inc., Bridgeview, Ill. They will serve as area managers for the northern and southern greater Chicago territories, respectively. Mid-States is a distributor of processing and sorting equipment in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.
HARRIS WASTE MANAGEMENT GROUP
Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., has promoted Steve Darden to vice president of finance, data and human resources. As such, he will oversee development of MIS support functions, manage the company’s Human Resources Department and oversee all financial reporting functions for the company.
SOUTHEAST PAPER
Mark Klimko has been promoted to the position of vice president, sales and marketing, of Southeast Paper Newsprint Sales, the marketing division of Southeast Paper, Dublin, Ga. Klimko started with Southeast Paper in 1988 and most recently served as the company’s newsprint sales manager.
AMBACO CANADA
Leslie Marks, long-time president of AMBACO Canada, the Canadian and North American distribution arm of American Baler, Bellevue, Ohio, is retiring. He is succeeded by Bob Marshall, president of what is now AMBACO Recycling Technologies, Ajax, Ontario.
GREENMAN TECHNOLOGIES
Robert Maust has joined GreenMan Technologies, Lynnfield, Mass., as president and chief operating officer of the company’s Tire Recycling Division. Maust was formerly vice president of tire recycling for Browning Ferris Industries, headquartered in Houston.
CANFIBRE
Christopher Carl has been appointed President of CanFibre, Vancouver, British Columbia. Carl, formerly the company’s executive vice president, is heading CanFibre’s project finance team which is currently in the final stages of funding of the company’s first urban panelboard plant in Riverside, Calif. Carl will also be responsible for CanFibre’s planned multiple North American medium density fiberboard plant developments. CanFibre develops manufacturing plants to produce wood panel products such as medium density fiberboard from 100 percent recycled dry waste.
