WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste Management Inc. has appointed David P. Steiner as vice president and deputy general counsel. He will be responsible for corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions legal matters. “His knowledge and experience will further our goal of building a world-class legal department,” says Larry O’Donnell, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Fiber Resource Group Inc.

The Fiber Resource Group Inc., Beverly, Mass., has named Todd Morrison vice president of sales for the pulp and paper division. He is a 10-year veteran of the industry, most recently working as a regional sales manager for Irving Paper and Madison Paper.

DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Betsy Blaisdell has been named project coordinator for the Mixed Plastics Manufacturing Facility, New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development and the Office of State Planning, Concord, N.H.

She is responsible for developing markets for recycled mixed plastics in the northern New England area.

BIRMINGHAM STEEL

Birmingham Steel Birmingham Steel Corp. has named S. Christopher Hiller as vice president and general manager of its plant in Cartersville, Ga. He previously served as vice president and general manager of Nucor Corp. Norfolk, Neb., facility.

DAVID J. JOSEPH CO.

James H. Goetz has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of David J. Joseph Co. (DJJ), Cincinnati. Goetz replaces William J. Zeck, who is retiring after 25 years with the company.

Also at DJJ, Judy G. Smith has been promoted to senior vice president-employee services. Smith replaces Melanie S. Toler, who is relocating to Paris, France, to begin an assignment with DJJ sister company SHV Gas.

METAL MANAGEMENT INC.

Metal Management Inc. has promoted James M. Nathan to president of Metal Management Aerospace Inc. David Borg has been named executive vice president of Metal Management Aerospace Inc.

Nathan has spent his entire career in nonferrous metals and joined Metal Management Aerospace in 1998 as a commercial vice president.

Borg has spent more than 25 years with Metal Management, most recently as vice president - high temperature alloy sales.
