Pacific Steel and Recycling Relocating Headquarters

Company to move its corporate headquarters to downtown Great Falls, Mont.

Pacific Steel and Recycling, based in Great Falls, Mont., is looking to move its corporate headquarters from the outskirts of the city to downtown Great Falls. The company has more than 40 branch locations in nine Western states. Currently, the company’s corporate center is located adjacent to its steel service center.

Ed Leppien, vice president of Pacific Steel, says the company hopes the move will be part of a strategy to revitalize Great Falls. Approximately 40 people will move to the new location.

At the present time the company has been in discussions with the city over purchasing two city-owned buildings that are around 100 years old. While the company will be updating the two warehouses into corporate space, Leppien says the company is trying to maintain much of the historical aspects of the buildings, including the brick façade, wood floors, tin ceilings and interior design elements. He estimates it will likely take between 14-16 months to renovate the building to allow the company to move. The deal with the city is expected to be complete by Sept. 6, 2011.
