 LIEBHERR SCRAP HANDLER

The Liebherr A 954 Litronic wheeled material handler has an operating weight of 135,000 pounds and is powered by a six-cylinder diesel engine. The hydraulic crane also has a maximum reach of 54 feet. The A 954 is equipped with the Litronic monitoring system which monitors, controls, regulates and coordinates all of the machine’s key systems. This electronic system not only improves the machine’s efficiency, but also protects the power train from possible overloads, extending the life expectancy of all involved components, say company officials.

GEHL SKID STEER

Gehl has introduced its new 35 Series of skid steer loaders featuring an expanded wheel base, boom lift arms that allow for better operator visibility and more lift capacity, and a roomier operator cab. The 6635 model has a wheel base of 48 inches, a 80-horsepower diesel engine and a lifting capacity of 2,300 pounds. The 5635 model has a wheel base of 42 inches with a 60-horsepower diesel and a lifting capacity of 1,800 pounds. Both models come with a variety of attachments, including a scrap shear.

PORTEC TUMBLE GRINDER

The heavy-duty Model 1042 Tumble Grinder from Portec is ideally suited for private and municipal yard waste processing sites, according to the company. The grinder is inclined at a 30-degree angle and has more than 200 square feet of pre-screening area to help separate fines before they come in contact with the rotor. In addition, the rotating screen acts as a cage, keeping most of the debris in the tub and feeding it back to the rotor below. The grinder has free-swinging, 110-pound hammers with 360-degree swing and 57-inch rotor assemble diameter.

GETZ RUBBLE HOG

Getz Recycle has designed the Rubble Hog to process a wide variety of materials up to 3000 tons per hour, including asphalt, concrete, demolition debris, wood, top soil, and more. The system sets up in only 15 minutes. The overall width of the Rubble Hog is 8 feet 6 inches, with a length of 29 feet.

ROCKLAND SORT BUCKET

Rockland Super Sort Buckets allow processors to dig, sort and load with one machine. Material is sorted in four steps that usually do not increase loading time, say company officials. First, operators load the bucket; second, they activate the hydraulically-powered sorter that sifts out large objects; third, they dump the sorted material; and finally, they dump the unwanted objects out of the sorter. The Super Sort Bucket eliminates the need for vibrating screens, according to the firm.

AUTOMATED WASTE CRANE

Automated Waste Equipment has acquired the Hawk 1150 TL Bulk Waste Crane from Iowa Mold Tooling Co. The 1150 TL, now marketed as the American Hawk Bulk Waste Crane, is used for curbside collection of bulk waste such as white goods and discarded furniture. The crane is also used for backing up curbside automated collection by collecting bulk waste that does not fit in the homeowner’s collection cart. The crane can be mounted with other roll-off hoists.

HARRIS BALER

Harris Waste Management Group has redesigned its V5-XHD baler to deliver greater operational efficiencies and generate better bales for the remelting market, say company officials. The machine can bale copper, and process bales up to 1,450 pounds of old corrugated cardboard; 1,400 pounds of core slab; and 475 pounds of uncrushed aluminum cans.

JCB SKID STEER

JCB has introduced a new version of its Robot skid steer loader, called the Robot 165 Series 2. A major change to the Robot 165 is the introduction of a standard manual control system, with servo controls as an option. The loader also has a new Perkins 104.22 four-stroke diesel engine that produces 50 horsepower (gross) at 2,800 rpms. The machine travels at 7 miles per hour, and axle torque has been improved by 22 percent for better counter rotation. The Robot 165 accepts a wide range of attachments to aid recyclers in moving material.

INDUSTRIAL EDDY CURRENT

Eddy Current Separators by Industrial Magnetics are available in three different forms to suit the individual user. They are: Eddy Current Rotors that are used where a customer has an existing system in place and wishes to build his own system; Eddy Current Separators that consist of the Eddy Current Rotor and a conveyor belt, two motors and drive systems, bearings, a product splitter, shrouded discharge area and support frame; and ECS Systems that provide all the above, plus ferrous metal separation equipment.

FAIRBANKS TRUCK SCALES

Fairbanks Scales has introduced a new line of Fork Truck Scales. These scales enable the operator to weigh on the go – on almost any lift truck – eliminating wasted time and effort, and providing an accurate product tracking method. In one operation, an operator can weigh, move and track materials, and get instant weight readings as soon as the forks are raised.
